Wedding Weekend

Just returned from Jamaica where we celebrated Jenny & Joe’s wedding. We couldn’t have imagined a more picturesque setting or beautiful bride; And now I’m in pina colada withdrawal.

Fabric & Trekking

Kathryn and I returned from Peru on Sunday, where we spent several days sourcing fabric & getting inspired and several days in a tent on the Inca Trail.

We began in Cusco where we explored the beautiful neighborhood of San Blas (Check out Pacha Papa for lunch), day-tripped into surrounding towns for textiles (we scoured the markets for vintage mantas to use in Resort ’13 and sell on the new “Fortune Found” portion of our website), and lingered at the stunning Pre-Columbian Art Museum (“MAP”, complete with a glass-box cafe in the middle of a courtyard).

Then it was off to Ollantaytambo to begin our 28 mile trek. Four days (and many Hershey’s bars, steep hills, alpacas, water purification tablets, and cups of cocoa tea) later, we reached Machu Picchu. It was spectacular and breathtaking and I’m still thinking about it…

More updates to follow about our Peruvian purchases… But for now back to work till Jenny’s Jamaica wedding this weekend.

Erin & Prints in the NYT

We love this shot of our good friend & SUNO designer, Erin Beatty, on the New York Times site this week. She’s wearing floral prints from SUNO’s FW12 collection along with our oversized, graphic-print “Tales of the West I” clutch (in stores now), and looks awesome:

Speaking of show-stopping prints… we are now in PERU. I’ll be starting my trek from Cusco to Machu Picchu at the crack of dawn tomorrow but for today I am sourcing, sourcing, sourcing. The textiles here are beyond (some incredible throws & pillow shams will be in the Fortune Found section of our web store soon!)

Babes in Austin

Just returned from Austin, where I hung out with Katie (who we wrote about here), and our dear friend Ashley, who made the trip in from Denver.

It was a weekend of girl talk and margs.

We had such a blast exploring the East Side (East Side Showroom & Papi Tinos are both awesome), drinking and playing catch-up upstairs at La Condesa, driving down to The Salt Lick, visiting our fav buyer, Wendi, at Kickpleat, checking out the yoga studio slash music venue Wanderlust, eating sushi at Uchi, and did we mention drinking margaritas?

I seriously love this town and would like to relocate there for a few months.

I absolutely adore Kickpleat – Wendi Koletar’s beautifully edited store on West 12th street. I picked up these printed shorts there, which I plan on wearing in Jamaica in a few weeks:

Katie also took me to JM Drygoods, which sells Mexican caftans, blankets & jewelry from Marfa, and incredible handmade leather chairs. This is truly my kind of store with all the travel finds and beautiful printed fabrics. I could have spent hours there:

I’m so in love with this town. Can’t wait to return soon.
